Write about your first computer.
It was a school day, and I think I must have been on the last day of a sick leave, because my dad took me shopping with him. I was in second grade, so it must have been the fall of 1984. I lived behind the Iron Curtain, but my life didn’t much resemble the book by that title. That aside, we went to buy a computer. It was the first computer I had ever seen. A ZX81. When we took it home and my dad hooked it up to our old Yunost TV and our casette player, a new world opened to me. It was so interesting that I could make the computer write things on the screen! And then I could play fun games! Games that would have required color to be able to solve easier (Attic Attack was my favorite, but I think that was either on the Spectrum or the Enterprise later on).
The TX81 had 1 Kb of memory. Yes, you read that right. It was still something out of science fiction. Later on we got the 16K expansion to be able to play more complicated games and my dad used it for work. It was on this computer where I first tried my hand at programming in BASIC. I never got far, but my love for computers and IT in general started there.
